Start date: 26 Apr 2021
End date: 28 Apr 2021
Registration deadline: 23 Apr 2021

These uncertain times are challenging for all of us working in the international development sector. It may be because of a sharp decline in donations, restrictions on our fundraising, or donors who no longer have enough funds available to help us.

We cannot predict the overall impact that these global events will have on our organisations, or indeed our own colleagues and communities, but there are tools available to maximise the resources we still have.
Many of the issues we are facing require us to have accurate and up-to-date financial information, and to use it in our decision-making to make the best use of current and future funding.

Financial sustainability and resilience is a course for these times: it allows us to look in detail at the strategic choices that organisations have to make – what they are, what information we need, and the consequences of making the wrong choices.

We use a mixture of interactive approaches. The online guided learning includes audio and video recordings with facilitator input and individual activities. Each module provides you with the practical skills not only to know how the numbers are calculated, but also how to use financial information and systems in decision-making.
You will learn to use the techniques in your own organisation and with partners, and so see better decision-making and programme impact. The course includes a range of tools and materials to use in your organisation’s activities.

IMA International facilitators will guide and mentor your learning process, providing you with:

  1. Practical exercises and reflection activities
  2. Up to a 90-minute guided group webinar (recordings made available)
  3. Presentations and video inputs
  4. User-friendly platform for accessing all materials, presentations and resources, sharing with your peer group and uploading your regular work to a dedicated portfolio
  5. Written resources and web links
  6. Relevant case studies
  7. Opportunity to apply financial management skills and techniques in your workplace
  8. Scheduled access to tutors

The Course will take between 6-8 hours and should be completed before the webinar date. The webinar will be approximately 90 min. the webinar is scheduled on the 24th March.
